14 days down!

So it's been really awesome here in Scotland! We've taken some really fun field trips and one group even came to us. We went to Edinburgh Castle on Sunday and poked around in the city all day. I took over 250 pictures!!! It was a very cool to see all the history of a place it was just sad that we had to squeeze it into such a short amount of time. We also went to the National Museum of Scotland and saw Dolly!!! If you don't know who Dolly is, then I will tell you: she was the first successful clone of an animal (she is a sheep), she was successful because she was able to reproduce without any birth defects or medical issues. The cells were mammary cells so if you can put 2 and 2 together that's why her name is Dolly.

We had a lot of class work this week, learning about different habitats and what species are in each of them. I have become pretty well educated about their types of plants, trees, flowers, and birds; so when we are out and about on sites and around campus I bug the equine people with the knowledge of knowing what kinds of flowers are around us. The funnest thing that happened this week was that we got to play paintball. The students at the college set it up for us because they were something Recreational Tourism majors and it was a group project for them. We played Americans versus Scottish, and us Americans won all four rounds. The first two were capture the flag, the third we were on teams trying to get an object to the other side of the field, but we were all after the same object. I got the tin and hid in a pond until my team mates got the other team out. Then the fourth round was shoot until your out of ammo and I hid in a bush in the middle of the field and I was third place. The first place winner was someone from my team so we won, YAY!!

Today we cleared out more of the orchard because on Sunday the community is having some kind of event where the people that fund it are coming and having a party so we trimmed it up some more. Then after lunch we made bird boxes, and finished some bat boxes from another group of previous months. I love arts and crafts, and man do I love power tools. I didn't cut off, bruise, or hit any of my body parts so I was very proud of myself!! I've official been out of America for 14 days, and it only feels like half that. Time has flown by here, and I'm going to be really sad when the program is done. It is so beautiful here, and I can't wait to travel more in a couple years when I get a big kid job and can afford it.
